Nothing brings people together like good food

LaPlace is a town off of I-10, just before Lake Pontchartrain in Louisiana. The owners were born in Texas; Tisha in Corpus Christi and raised in Laplace. Apolonia was her mother's name, who owned many businesses and had restaurants in New Orleans, Colorado Springs and Puerto Rico. Tisha's mother was involved in many organizations and recieved a plaque with the key to the City of New Orleans from the Mayor. The Governor and Owner of Bacardi Rum were regulars at the family restaurant in Puerto Rico. The restaurant also catered to the American All-Star Baseball Players, including Jose Cruse. Along with other All-Star Members and Coaches back in the mid 70's. Tisha father was an international Tugboat Captain, who traveled all the oceans around the world. Many of the flavors are from Tisha's mother's restaurant and a few flavors Tisha created on her own over the years.

Tisha's heritage is like a tossed salad, French, German, Castilian, Mexican, Apache, Cherokee and Dutch. Tisha's great uncle on her mothers' side was the 1st Hispanic to become a Captain for the Texas Rangers. His memorabilia can be found in the Texas Ranger Museum in Waco, TX.

Philip was also born in Texas and rasied in Bellaire (sub. of Houston). Philip's family, generations back on his mother's side, (Velma Lee Johnson-Matticks) were one on the founding families of the Coldspring area and Kemah. Philip is also part of the Kipp family of Texas. Philip's family on his mothers side have been in the Coldspring area since before the Texas Revolution.

So much history between Philip and Tisha's families. Philip & Tisha have been married fro over Thirty Years. The first marriage for both and they never had children. They both say that each year that passes is an extension of their Honeymoon. Philip & Tisha still manage to enjoy each other's company and enjoy the time they spend together working as a partnership. The adventures life has set sail for them have been rewarding. They both decided to retire or remain in Coldspring, were Philips roots began..
